Roberta H. Seymour, age 86, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Mrs. Seymour was born in Union, SC on October 24, 1923, the daughter of the late Ralph H. and Jennie Haley. She spent her early years in Charlotte, NC before becoming a long time resident of Savannah.
Roberta was a devoted member of Independent Presbyterian Church and committed her life to the love of God, family and church. She was also a volunteer at Hospice Savannah for a number of years in their administrative offices.
An enthusiastic and accomplished gardener, she loved the beauty of flowers and had a passion for growing gorgeous orchids. Mrs. Seymour was also a member of The Landings Garden Club. Traveling was another great interest which she and her husband, William Seymour, did extensively for many years.
She and William Seymour, III met through Hospice Savannah and were married December 10, 1994. They resided at The Landings prior to moving to The Marshes of Skidaway Island almost 5 years ago.
Mrs. Seymour was preceded in death by her late husband, Elmo W. "Buddy" Rabeler and is survived by her husband, William Seymour, III; son, John G. Rabeler and wife Maria of Statesboro, GA; daughter, Jennie Murphy and husband Michael of Savannah; grandchildren, Lauren Rabeler, Julianna Rabeler, Chrissy Murphy and John Murphy.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday at Independent Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be sent to Hospice Savannah, Post Office Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416-0190.
